Wagner meets Mann 15.09.07 - 27.03.2008 Follow the traces of the famous composer Richard Wagner and the Nobel Prize Laureate Thomas Mann. The timeliness of Thomas Mann’s internationally renowned novel “The Buddenbrooks” which is going to be staged at the Theatre of Lübeck will be as fascinating to see as the enthralling staging of Richard Wagner’s “Ring of the Nibelung”. Thomas Mann’s descriptions how he first experienced the Wagner operas at the Theatre of Lübeck when he was a child are legendary. This is reason enough for the theatre to start a new staging of Richard Wagner’s “Ring of the Nibelung” and the Thomas Mann dramatisation from the season 2007/2008 to 2010/2011.
